What is the main difference between a registrar and a celebrant? 🏛️
A registrar performs the legal paperwork with standardized language in an approved venue. As a celebrant, I focus entirely on your story, giving you complete freedom over your vows, music, location, and overall vibe without legal scripts or time limits!
Do we have to write our own vows? 📝
Not at all! If you want to write your own, I will help guide you. If you prefer me to write personalized vows for you to repeat, or want classic promises, we will tailor it to whatever feels most comfortable for you.
How do the processional, recessional, and seating work? 🚶♂️
I guide you through every step during our planning and rehearsal! From who stands where to when the music cues start, I coordinate the entire flow so everyone feels confident and relaxed.
How long do you stay on the day? ⏱️
I arrive at least an hour before the ceremony to check all setup details, align with your photographer and musicians, and calm any pre-ceremony nerves. I stay throughout the service until you have made your grand exit and are happily celebrating with your guests!
What areas do you travel to, and are travel fees included? 🗺️
I am based in East Riding of Yorkshire and regularly travel across Yorkshire to conduct ceremonies! Travel up to 30 miles from my home base is completely included in your package fee. For venues further afield (or destination weddings), I simply charge a standard per-mile rate or cover basic overnight accommodation if needed. Everything is clearly outlined in your quote beforehand—no hidden surprises!
What happens if we are planning an outdoor ceremony and it rains? 🌧️
As a celebrant, I am entirely flexible! Whether your ceremony moves under a marquee, into a barn, or indoors, I adapt seamlessly to your backup plan. During our planning process, we will discuss your venue's wet-weather options so that no matter what the skies decide to do on the day, your ceremony feels deliberate, beautiful, and completely stress-free.
