The Journey So Far.
Tip Your Hat is built on stories, gestures, and moments that mark a life. This page is where I gather some of those threads — updates on my celebrancy, glimpses into ceremonies past and present, and the quiet milestones that shape this work.

A Beginning Marked In Yellow
Here we are — freshly certified, full of stories yet to be told. That’s me in yellow, standing alongside two brilliant new celebrant comrades. We’ve shared laughter, learning, and a deep respect for the role we now step into. This certificate marks the start of something real: a commitment to honouring life’s moments with warmth, dignity, and care. Tip Your Hat begins here.
A Ceremony in Practice: Samantha’s Farewell
As part of my celebrant training, I crafted and delivered a funeral ceremony for Samantha Davenport — a fictional character brought to life through story, tribute, and tenderness. Though the ceremony was shared only with fellow trainees, it reflects the tone, care, and emotional depth I bring to every service.
Even in training, the ceremony felt real — a space for storytelling, reflection, and honouring a life well lived.
“When I asked Amy and Christopher about their mother, they both smiled with fondness and recollected how she was always dressed to perfection… But that as a person her smile was infectious as was her love for life, fresh air and well-being… She was always vocal about her dislike of discussing politics but was always happy to give you a tarot card reading that was never anything else other than encouraging, supportive and positive.”
💍 A Wedding Moment
They gathered the threads of each passing year —
of fish, of fabric, and love held dear.
With laughter stitched into every seam,
they stood together, a quiet team.
From my celebrant training, a glimpse into a ceremony crafted with humour, rhyme, and heart.
This excerpt was part of a wedding ceremony I wrote during training. It celebrates the couple’s story with warmth and whimsy — a reminder that love is often found in the everyday.
